Have you ever wondered how to apply makeup so subtly that it looks invisible enough to trick your teachers, yet still enhances your features? Well good news to you all in school and wanting to wear make-up as I have all the tips you need right on this blog post.
We have 13 year old Lauren - one of MUA’s fans in MUA towers today where I am giving her a mini makeover and teaching her the low down on how to wear her make-up when she goes back to school in September using on budget MUA products. It's important to know how to apply makeup the right way at school so you don’t get into trouble with your teachers so today I gave Lauren a ‘How to’ tutorial on an easy no make-up look ready to face her teachers in September looking fresh faced and looking amazing with MUA!
Lauren gave me a little insight into the troubles she faces at school when wearing make-up:
“ My eyes look so dull at school, I need a subtle way to wear eye shadow. I also love to wear eye liners but I can never get away with it! My skin looks so pale without blusher or bronzer, I want to have some colour in my face, without being to over the top. Lip gloss is one of my favourite make up and I’d love to wear it at school but I can’t find a colour that looks good and isn’t too noticeable. I just need a simple way to wear makeup so I don’t look so plain for school! J”
Here are my solutions for Lauren to achieve a subtle no make-up look for school from my tutorial today:
When applied the right way, makeup can subtly yet stunningly enhance the beautiful features you already have; in other words, you'll still look like you, only better! But first things first—you need to have a good skincare routine in place. "Great makeup starts with great skin, so make sure to cleanse and moisturise your face twice a day.
- When starting your makeup routine, the first thing you want to do is make your skin look even and perfect. Start by applying a BB Cream- £3 (for the most part, teens do not need foundation)
· Then use the brush on concealer pen -£2 on any spots that need a little extra coverage, like on a pimple or around the nose where redness often occurs.
· After you've evened out your skin, it's time to give it a bit of colour—but fake it, don't bake it. "If you love the sun-kissed look, use a tony bit of the Mosaic Bronzer in Sunkissed Glow -£2.50 to get a great glow. Apply bronzer to the areas of the face where the sun naturally hits (forehead, nose, high on the cheeks, and a bit on the neck).
· Then apply English Rose Mosaic blusher-£2.50 onto the apples of your cheeks.
· Next, prepare to play up your eyes. "You don't want to wear a colour that's too bright, dark, or shimmery to school, as those colours are more for a weekend/party look. I suggest choosing the matte shades from the Undressed palette-£4 that will define your lids but not make you look overdone," she says. "Apply this shadow to just the lower part of the eyelid. Next, apply one to two coats of Every Lash mascara to really make your eyes stand out; for school, only apply it to the upper lashes." Finally groom those brows with the clear mascara in shade 1.
·
- Lastly, wear a sheer gloss on your lips to polish off your look. "Your lip gloss colour should complement the natural colour of your lips, so choose one that's the same shade or one shade darker or lighter than your natural lip colour. I have used lip gloss tube in shade 4- £1 on Lauren.
The finished look on Lauren :)
