Shona from freshbeautyxox tells us about her top 5 MUA products!!

Hello MUA fans!

I'm Shona and today I'm here to do a guest post on MUA's blog, the very first guest post on here, exciting! I usually blog over at freshbeautyxox and you can find the link to my blog at the end of the post. I've been a fan of MUA products since a little while after they launched. The £1 range was perfect for me as I was experimenting with makeup at that time like most teens do, I've loved seeing MUA grow and come out with more new exciting products! I thought today I'd share my top 5 favourite MUA products with you!

In no particular order...

Heaven and Earth Palette £4- full review here

This was one of the first products I ever purchased from MUA and all this time later its still going strong! MUA eyeshadows in general are well pigmented but this is definitely my favourite palette, you can tell which shade is my favourite! MUA have since brought out more neutrals palettes like the Undressed palettes but this one will always be my favourite.

Undress Your Skin Shimmer Highlighter £3

This is one of MUAs newer products and after spending weeks trying to track it down I finally found it and fell in love! I'm a big highlighter fan and this is just what I needed in my collection. Its pigmented and gives your cheeks a really nice glow and the design of the actual product is beautiful!

Undress Your Skin Flawless Skin Primer £5

Again this is one of MUAs newer products and after not having much experience with primers I thought I'd give it a go! I've never tried a primer like this and it sits on my skin really nicely and creates a good base for foundation. It does reduce the appearance of pores like it promises and it makes my foundation go on nicely.

Intense Kisses High Intensity Gloss £2- full review here

If you read my blog then you'll know how much I love these beauties, I never shut up about them! This is the shade Lips are Sealed, one of 3 that I own, its definitely my favourite shade. These feel moisturising, are super pigmented and are long lasting! And at only £2 how can you resist?

Every Lash Mascara £3- full review here

This is another product that I never shut up about it! I recommend it to people left, right and centre! It truly is an amazing mascara, it was the first mascara I found that lasted all day and longer. It gives my lashes a lot of length and volume. You can control how much volume you get by how many coats you apply. I usually just do one coat but by adding another coat it bumps up the volume a lot, making it a good mascara for day and night!

MUA is a brand I'll continue to buy from as they fit my budget perfectly!

How about you though, what are your top 5 MUA products?

Thanks for reading,

Shona

Pretty in Pink

Here at MUA Towers we're loving this seasons pink trend!!

Whether you choose to go pastel or bright, we've got lots of lovely pink products to make sure you're bang on trend.

Why not try a subtle rosey day look using our Mosaic Blush in 'English Rose' to contour and highlight, adding our Blush Perfection Cream Blusher in 'Bittersweet' on the apples of your cheeks and blending upwards.  Finish off with a lovely pink gloss, here we've used our Love Hearts Lip Balm in 'Sugar Lips'.

If you wanted to give your lips a bit more of a pop why not use our Lipgloss Trio in 'Scarlet'?  You can use the brightest and lightest shades to enhance your lips by applying the brightest colour all over and then adding the lightest shade in the centre of your top and bottom lip to add highlight.

For a more dramatic pink look why not try out this smokey eye with a twist that we created using our Glitter Ball Eyeshadow Palette?

Using the E1 Eyeshadow Brush apply the pink (or any other bright colour you might feel like!) to the inner corner of your eye and across 2/3 of your lid, take it down into your lower lash line so that the pink really stands out!  Then apply the black into the crease of your eyelid and the outer corner of your eye using the E2 Eyeshadow Contour Brush.  Finally, blend, blend, blend! For this we have used the E3 Blending Eye Shadow Brush.

Matching lips and nails are making a come-back, why not pick up one of our £1 Nail Polishes in 'Natural Days' or 'Ameretto Crush' or if you feel like a bit of sparkle, then try the Mystical Glitter Nails in 'Starfish'!

Send us photos of all of your Pretty Pink looks! We'd love to see them!

Shimmer Kisses Bronzer 4 in 1!!

Our multi-tasking Bronzer... Shimmer Kisses

This product does much more than it says on the label, it works really nicely as a highlighter, blusher and eyeshadow as well as a bronzer!

Here at MUA Towers we thought we would demonstrate how versatile this product can be.

Step 1: Use the lightest square (1) across your lid, into the inner corner of your eye socket and up to your brow to create highlight.

Step 2: We have used the peach toned square (3) in this look, but any of the 3 darker squares look lovely in the socket line, they subtly add shape to your eye and create a really lovely glowing shadow.

Step 3: We have then used square 2 to contour... you can watch a tutorial on how to do this on our YouTube Channel www.youtube.com/MUAMakeupacademyTV

Step 4: For the highlight on the tops of the cheekbones we have used square 1, and then finally brushed squares 3 and 4 onto the cheeks to give a lovely glow!

We have finished off the look using our Intense Colour Eyeliner in 'Rich Brown', the Mega Volume Mascara in 'Black/Brown' and our Power Pout in 'Rendezvous'.

NEW Trios!!

Great things come in threes!

Here at MUA we have some great new lip and eye trios for you to try, they're all really wearable and there is something for everyone!
Each eye trio has three shades that really complement each other, perfect if you're not too sure on what colours to wear together!

'Legendary' includes three fairly neutral tones, perfect for the daytime, or those of you who would rather go with a bright lip and keep it more subtle on your eyes!

Here I've blended the lightest shade up to the brow and used the two darker shades on the lid and socket line.  On the cheeks I have used our Bronzer in Shade 1 (£1) and the Blush Perfection Cream Blush in 'Bittersweet' (£2).  To finish off the look I have used one of the shades in the Lipgloss Trio 'Temptress' (£2.50) and of course on the brows I've used the Ultimate Eyebrow Kit (£3.50).

'Emotions' is a little darker, but still very flattering bronze tones, which can be worn day or night.

As the lightest shade in the trio is a little warmer than the one in 'Legendary', I have just blended it into the inner corner of the eye, across the lid and just above the crease line, rather than going all the way up to the brow.  I have then used the middle shade on the lid and the darkest one in the outer corner and socket line.  You can also blend the two darker colours under your eye to give you a gorgeous bronze smokey eye!  The finishing touches in this look are the Blusher in Shade 3 (£1) and one of the shades in the Lipgloss Trio 'Scarlet' (£2.50).

The grande finale is the Eyeshadow Trio in 'Theatrics', the purple and the black have a bit of sparkle, perfect for an evening look!

Here I have used the lightest shade all over the eye, to the inner corner and up to the brow, this will give you a really nice highlight.  I have then used the purple across the lid and slightly above the socket line.  I've then used the black along the socket line and in the inner and outer corners of the eye.  To create a more dramatic look I've used the black along the lower lash line and finished off with Liquid Eyeliner in Shade 5 (£1).  For the cheeks I have used the Blusher in Shade 3 (£1)and finishing off with one of the shades from the Lipgloss Trio in 'Siren'.
