Smoky Eyes for Spring/Summer

You should always only play up one feature (eyes or lips, not both), then why not throw a great gloss on your pout and make your eyes look hot by using these great smoky eyes makeup tips with MUA cosmetics?

Here I will give you a quick and very easy guide to creating a great smoky look this Summer, without having to be an expert makeup artist. Plus, if your budget is virtually non-existent, MUA is here to help!

Step 1:

Apply Intense Glitter eyeliner in 'Starry Night'-£1 to both eyelids

Step 2:

Now simply use a finger and blend and smudge the eyeliner up to your crease line. This can get messy so take your time

Step 3:

Using Starry Night Eye Shadow Palette-£4 use the black,purples and greys all mixed onto a blending brush and apply the eyeshadow all over your eyelids blending outwards at your crease. This will set the eyeliner underneath and keep your eyeshadow on for longer

Step 4:

Gently apply Extreme Felt Eyeliner- £2 to your top lash line and slightly wing this out

Step 5:

To make your eyes pop use Intense coloured eyeliner in 'Snow White' £1 and apply this to your bottom water line

Step 6:

Take 'Flair' £2 false eyelashes and cut to your eye shape, flex them and then apply the glue to the strip, let the glue get tacky before applying the false eyelashes to your natural lashes

Step 7:

Finally apply two coats of your favourite MUA mascara to the false eyelashes in order to blend your natural lashes and false lashes together

Happy Birthday Lady Gaga! Here are her BEST make-up moments...

Do you ever wonder what it’s like in Lady Gaga’s world? Whether you love or hate her, you’ve got to admit she’s always pulling something new out of the bag. I didn’t think it could get crazier than the meat dress, but Gaga is experimenting with a new look everyday which at very least, provides some outrageous makeup inspiration for me at MUA Towers.

Everything she does with her hair and makeup is so overdone and in-your-face. And not everyone could pull it off so it is possible to do your own version of a pared-down Lady Gaga if you are feeling particularly adventurous with MUA Cosmetics.

Wedding make-up Ideas on a budget with MUA for 2012

The Make-up Look I created on a friend's Wedding- Classic Hollywood Look

As its Wedding season I thought it would be perfect timing to create a blog post on wedding make-up ideas on a budget with MUA. With the changing trends of the bridal look, the wedding make up trends change each season. The makeup techniques have completely changed and subtle and lighter shades of cosmetics are preferred over darker tones (unless you desire darker tones for your big day) It’s every girl’s desire to look gorgeous on her wedding day.

The trendy and simple look is a must have for this wedding season and here are some simple wedding make up looks and tips to suit your theme, skin tone and favourite colours with MUA...

A classic red lip and thick black eyeliner takes the look from "everyday" to "special occasion."

Shade 13 Lipstick- £1

Extreme felt eyeliner- £2

"Classic bride" look. The makeup is natural and pretty—but still bold enough to pop in photos.

Innocence Trio eyeshadow Set- £2.50

Plumping Lip gloss in 'Buff'- £2

A modern pinup look retro winged cat-eye liner, and a bright pop of pink-red lipstick. If you're going to be wearing a 1950s-inspired tea-length gown, this is the way to go.

3 in 1 Extreme Contour eyeliner in 'Black' -£1.50

Shade 7 Lipstick- £1

Another take on the modern beehive, this time paired with wine-coloured lips and silver soft eye shadow—a sophisticated look that would work perfectly at a black tie affair in a swanky ballroom.

Feminine berry-stained lips and rosy-pink cheeks—it's a fresh, romantic look I would recommend to any bride getting married outdoors.

Karla’s Bridal Makeup Tips:

·         Make-up with sheen is very pretty but don't get carried away. Reflective products look pretty in person but when the flashes go off, the shine is doubled or tripled.

·         Remember, you can do a slightly subtler version of make-up for the ceremony and the photos and then add a great twinkly gloss or a slightly brighter lipstick for your reception or party.

·         If you are wearing a veil, your make-up will need to be slightly stronger to compensate for it. But also keep in mind that as you walk down the aisle, you don't want it sticking to your lips! Make sure someone helps you position the fabric of the veil so you don't have a make-up stain on it for the rest of the day.

·         Go for make-up that is as long lasting as possible. Waterproof mascara is always a good plan as most brides end up crying on their special day.

·         Tuck a tissue down the bust line of your dress or up your sleeve or in your bag... just in case!

Purple Day is an international day dedicated to increasing awareness about epilepsy worldwide. On March 26^th, people in countries around the world are invited to wear purple and host events in support of epilepsy awareness. In 2012, people in different countries all participate in this day. So here at MUA Towers I have created Purple nails and Purple eyes to take part in this day, after all Purple is my FAVOURITE colour so any excuse to create looks with purple! J
