The key to the perfect smoky eye is blending. You want to make sure colours are blended together flawlessly. Also, it's important to pair light base colours with rich dark colours. Nice mixes include: Soft gold base with deep purple on top, champagne base with bright green hue.
How to get this look with The ‘Dusk till Dawn Palette’,£4…
1. Apply ‘Shade 1’ a light base colour over the lids to your brow bone.
2. Apply ‘Shade 2’ in gold to the inner corner of the eyes to make the eyes pop.
3. Apply ‘Shade 3’ in green to the centre of the eye lids to give the eyes a highlighted effect.
4. Blend ‘Shade 4’ in purple but keep the dark colour below the crease.
5. To get a more dramatic smoky effect use ‘Shade 5’in dark grey using an eye shadow brush blend in the colour starting at your lash line, blending up . Stop 'Shade 5' at the crease. The key here is to blend, blend, and blend!
6. Line the top lash line with Extreme felt liner, £2.00 to hide your natural lash line. This will automatically make the eyes look fiercer! If you're going for a typical black, or brown smoky eye, apply liner in one of those colours above the upper lash line, drawing the line thicker in the middle of eye. If you're opting for a jewel-toned eye (violet makes a gorgeous smoky eye), line eyes with a purple, blue or deep green liner.
7. Finish with several coats of black mascara, £1. You'll want to apply a few coats of mascara so lashes are thick and dark. Or why not try false eye lashes?

Here are some of my tips on smoky eyes to consider...
1.Remember to keep lips nude. When applying strong makeup (like smoky eyes or red lips) put the focus on either eyes or lips, never both. (Think Angelina Jolie: She either plays up her huge eyes or her huge lips, never both. If she did, she'd look like a clown).
2.For a bit of fun, try a blue or purple mascara. It will make blue eyes "pop."
3.Eyeliner is necessary for a smoky eye.
4.This season go jewel-toned (blue is great for you blue-eyed girls) and keep your eyes smoky but stay away from dark browns and black. Instead, go for a deep purple, a gold-brown or any of the many vibrant colours in this year.
