Tracey from bitenomore.blogspot.co.uk shows us patchwork nails!

Hello all again, another post for the guys at MUA, and I'm so happy to be doing it.

To share with everyone who is also nutty about nails and nail art,

just how easy it can be, and for you all to try with your MUA Nail Polish.

The first design I wanted to try after doing it on my nail wheel, was Patchwork Nails.

So easy yet also so effective:)

The MUA colours I used where, Lush Lilac, Pistachio IceCream, Frozen Yoghurt, Bold Blue and Bright Pink.

These colours both bright and pastel work so well together.

The First thing to do is paint your nails with two coats of white polish.

This makes all the colours pop more.

Then once that is dry, start adding small patches of polish, in any colour order you wish,

in random places on the nails. I found it easier to do all nails with one colour at a time.

It doesn't matter if the colours touch slightly, as this will add to the end effect.

Looks a bit messy if it was left like this, but it comes to life when the tiny stitch marks are added.

This is done using the black acrylic paint and a fine detailing brush.

I cut my brush to make it even thinner.

Where each colour touches, make tiny straight line stitch marks, pretty close to each other, but not touching. Do this for every join in colour. As your doing this, you will slowly see the design coming to life, and Oh Boy it looks awesome :)

The next design I have for you is making a Leather Effect look using Nail Quake Polish.

The wonderful people at MUA sent me some Glitter Nail Quakes in

Blue, Copper, Silver, Pink, Gold and Green :)

I wasn't sure how well this effect would work with the Glitter Quake,

but was very please to see it does create a different effect to the normal one you get

with this polish, when you paint your nails normally with it.

Start by choosing a colour very close to the shade of Glitter Quake,

and paint two coats on your nails.

Then instead of painting down the nail like normal, but still starting at the base of your nail,

side swipe the polish, from left to right or right to left.

Do this right up the nail. As it drys and crackles its creates a different effect to what you'd normally get.

Making a somewhat Leather Look. So two different effects with one polish :)

I hope you all like these design, and try them yourselves :)

Enjoy the sunshine too :)
