THIS IS NOW APPLIES TO ALL RESIDENTS J
MUA’s Professional Eye Primer, £2.50

MUA’s Professional Eye Primer is the newest addition to the professional range for only £2.50! So here is my review and reasons why I LOVE MUA’s eye primer which claims: “Long-Lasting. Smoothing. No Crease.” – Everything you could want from a prime! The reason why this is an essential- It has peachy tone to it, and when it is blended into the skin it leaves a very subtle base colour. This then ensures you have a true base to build an eye shadow look on to your eyes.

Glamour Days Palette- £4
Our NEW MUA Eye palettes ‘Glamour Day’s &‘Glamour Nights’ are MUAS first eye shadow sets to include matte and pearl colours. However my essential palette at the moment is glamour days- £4. It’d highly pigmented soft touch eye shadow that possesses 12 pearlescent or matte shades. The pearlescent shades
Possess a large amount of mica and reflect the light giving a shimmering effect to the eye. The colour viewed in the palette is the colour that will be applied to the eye, as the payoff is excellent and the formulation is long lasting. It has all my essential neutral shades the day time, and if I want to add some glamour I can with this palette!

Extreme Curl Mascara- £2

I hardly have time in the morning’s to apply mascara but when I do I love using the extreme mascara for the day time as I really like the fact that it’s got a big brush and also it’s quite a dry mascara, not in the way that there's no product there but it seems to give you just the right amount which I need in a rush in the mornings.  I know one of my pet hates is runny mascaras and when you're applying them they seem to go everywhere, normally the case with cheap mascaras but with this one it’s the perfect consistency for me, and will continue to stay put in my make-up bag!

Shade 13 Lipstick- £1

Whilst being a timeless beauty essential, this season the perfect red pout must be revved up with a bright but slightly gothic lipstick in ‘Shade 13’, £1.I am always opting for this red lipstick shade for any glamorous event or party!

Shade 4 Lipgloss Tube- £1

I wear this lip gloss tube every single day and I get so many compliments and always asked what lip gloss I am wearing. It’s absolutely silky and non-sticky texture and for £1 every one can gorgeous glossy lips every day, it also looks fab over my Shade 13 lipstick. Shade 4 is an orangey peachy colour but applies as a sheer peachy pink with golden shimmer.  With an amazing smell of sweeties, a little like Love Hearts. Mmm.

Shade 24 Nail varnish- £1
I am in love and just discovered my top on-trend MUA nail varnish which I can finding myself wearing, so forget those fluorescents because nail polish palette just got grown up. Pastels and barely -there beiges, this season’s shades mirror fashion’s obsession with all things luxe and ladylike, so here I have discovered this amazing icy lilac colour… It totally brightens my nails on those miserable winter days. Coloured nails are officially chic again! Shade 24-£1

Beauty Trend of the week with MUA- Bold Statement lips & nails inspired by Valentine’s Day

Valentine's Day is drawing near and after my Valentine's Day nail look I did last week, I decided to do even MORE Valentine's Day nails and lips! I wanted something that was Valentine's Day, but still on-trend for spring, so different shades of red and pink fits into the valentine’s look perfectly for this season’s on trend colours. Red nails have never gone out of style; it's just that the variation of shades and the shape of the nail that changes. For example, in the '80s, long pointy nails rocked, and in the '90s, long rounded nails were styling'. This season, short red nails are red hot! Just check out the digits on trend setters Christina Aguilera and Mary-Kate Olsen.

My Valentine's Inspired nails before adding the design, in Shade order: 14, 8, 6, 4, 14- All £1 each.

My completed Valentine's nail look using Shade 5 Black liquid eyeliner-£1 and the above nail varnish shades:

Statement lips can be pretty much any colour, from a bubble-gum pink to a glossy bright red to a warm purple; as long as they’re bold, bright and bolshy you’re onto a winner. There are only two rules with statement lips – check your teeth every hour, minimum (or enlist a reliable friend to alert you to when you’re working that coloured-teeth look), and don’t overdo your makeup look with statement eyes and/or statement cheeks too. Aside from those two things, statement lips are actually pretty easy to get right. A pop of colour at a 9am tutorial is just as appropriate as a dramatic look on a night out, and although it might not make your 9-5 day of lectures better it definitely makes getting ready for said day of lectures a lot more bearable. So look around and experiment – go as bright as you dare.
In Shade order- 1,1,3,13,6
Shade 6 lipstick

This trend is everywhere at the moment – and pretty much always is (I’m not even sure if this look even counts as a trend, given that bright red lips are almost a prerequisite of catwalk or red carpet dress codes). As I am keeping in the Valentine’s day inspiration what better to choose these different shades of MUA lipsticks to make a statement, I have opted for Shade 6- as it’s a beautiful shade of pink, and to give it my own twist I have used Shade 5 black liquid liner to write LOVE on my lips(This was so tricky, but it can be done with patience and a steady hand).

Get Purple Subtle Eyes with This AMAZING Extreme Metallic’s Quad Eye Shadow Set

For you MUA fans out there, I wanted to blog about these beautiful metallic quad eye sets. MUA have six quad eye shadow sets from the following shades:
Smokin:

Go Getter:

Show Stopper:

Glammed up:

Star struck:
Celebrity:
So if you have been following me a lot lately I am loving purple eye shadows, so I have created a look with the extreme metallic quad eye shadow set in ‘Celebrity’, £3 due to the fact it’s a beautiful section of purples, and not to mentions purples make my green eyes pop!

Celebrity, £3 is the perfect selection of colours for any Purple fans out there. It has a fabulous highlight shade that then runs into a pretty purple based pale baby style pink/lilac. The next colour is what gives this palette that added twist and it is a bronze shade finishing up with a deeper true purple. The great thing about the palette is it can be used to create a purple smoky eye or a bronzed smoky eye and they are great for both daytime and evening. I have opted for a more subtle day time look this time round.

The colours look great in the pan – from the light highlight shade to the deep purple, it seems to contain everything you need to create an intense, smoky and simply gorgeous eye makeup look. Also they are very smooth like butter. Literally dabbing your make-up brush dabbed in the sets for the swatches, and the colour payoff is second to none.
So here is the look I have created with 'Celebrity':
Step 1-
Apply the second(Lilac) shade all over the eyelids with a flat oval brush and extend over the crease area
Step 2-
Apply the third (warm brown) into the crease area with a blending brush, blend this outwards to add definition and shape to the eyes
Step 3-
With a firm angled brush apply the fourth (Deep Purple) shade onto the top lash line
Step 4-
With a firm angled brush apply the fourth (Deep Purple) shade and sweep along the bottom lash line
Step 5-
To make your eyes pop use the first (pearl white) shade and apply this to the inner corner of the eyes
Step 6-
To brighten those eyes, apply Intense colour eyeliner in 'Snow White', £1 to the water line. Finish the eye with two coats of your favourite MUA mascara.

The Finished Look:

Foundation Application Tips From MUA

Following the right foundation application tips can help hide problem spots on your skin and leave it glowing and beautiful.
With the right foundation application tips, you can mask those unwanted blemishes, freckles or dark spots, especially if you are in a rush to put your makeup on. Use these helpful foundation application tips from myself to get your skin looking clean and clear every time you leave your house.

Foundation Application Tip #1: Before applying MUA Matte foundation, make sure you clean your face first. Use a gentle face cleanser to remove any dirt or impurities. This will help your foundation glide on smoothly and stay on longer.
~
Foundation Application Tip #2: The middle finger is generally your weakest digit; use that finger tip to gently pat liquid foundation on the blemish or dark spot.

Foundation Application Tip #3: If you don't like the idea of getting makeup on your finger tips, then use a facial sponge to gently apply liquid foundation.

Foundation Application Tip #4: Wait until the matte liquid foundation is dry before using a makeup brush to apply powder, like MUA pressed powder, £1 evenly over your skin. The powder helps set the liquid foundation and allows it to stay on longer.

Foundation Application Tip #5: Sometimes it is helpful to add a small amount of oil-free face moisturiser, like Clarifying Moisture Balance, to your foundation, especially if you are trying to cover a red spot on your skin.  The added moisture helps calm skin.
~
Once you have applied the foundation to all your problem areas, make sure you double check your skin. In order to be assured that the foundation looks as even as possible, view your face under a natural light source to see if your blemishes are effectively covered.
~
Finding the right foundation colour and following these foundation application tips will help you achieve a blemish-free complexion. MUA have three shades to pick from:
Shade 1, £1
Shade 2, £1
Shade 3, £1
